Hi all,
After the recent unseasonal weather I thought it worthwhile walking a beach. Nine kilometres along Portland Bay (Narrawong to the Fitzroy River mouth) produced the following:-
Beach cast
Little Penguin 24 + 1 alive
Australasian Gannet 8 all immature
Short-tailed Shearwater 5 + 1 alive
Fairy Prion 5 + 1 alive (died later)
Slender-billed Prion 1
Great-winged Petrel 1
Fluttering Shearwater 1
Black-faced Cormorant 1 Ad
Beach cast Mammals
Australian Fur Seal 1 Ad
Sperm Whale (DSE notified).
