Hi all,

On Monday night I would have agreed with Tim. I left about 10 minutes
later, but I don't have a mobile phone. I would have just been locking
the last gate as I left the treatment Plant when the gull arrived. There
I was, if only I had turned back for one more go; I would have been
laughing!!

But..... last night I went down again after work. I arrived at the
alotted time (so it seems) of 6:00 pm, and there it was.

When I arrived there were about 4 cars and six people. Over the next hour
more cars arrived and scopes lined up to watch as the gull dozed on a
sand bank 50 or so meters away. More people arrived and bread came out
"to feed the gulls". the Franklin's joined the flock of gulls but did not
come down to feed, instead it just cruised with the gulls, delighting us
with long glides and power turns.

It was a perfect evening of about 34 degrees, a light onshore breeze,
flocks of waders giving a "mini Broome" display over the sand flats and
Pelicans and ducks adding to the mix. All ages were present from a babe
in arms to us older generations; ah what a shame we didn't have a few
chilled bottles of wine, a beach umbrella or two, chairs and a few
sandwiches.

Still, it was a fun beach party and the star of the evening performed
well beyond expectation. I would definitely give the show 4 Margaret
Pomeranz stars (it would have been 5 if the wine and umbrellas had been
there).

It will probably be on again tonight so for those who have missed it so
far .... but we all know that some american actors can be temperamental
so, good luck.
