Greetings,

I have been reading a bit about South America recently and was intrigued to
find that they have in Amazonia mixed species feeding flocks which are
stable and territorial.

My experience of watching these groups in north Queensland is that they are
temporary opportunistic gatherings and while some, perhaps most of the birds
may be territorial, the group could not be said to be so.

I am interested to hear of others' observations in this country and
overseas.

Regards,
Alan Gillanders
