Thought the following may be of interest to Victorian and visiting birdos,
especially if you're visiting some of our wetlands.

It is a series of maps (available as pdf files) that show the Victorian
State Game Reserves, access, nearby facilities, waterfowl normally present
and a brief description of the habitat type. I came across the site as a
result of trying to determine access for Merin Merin and Middle Swamps near
Clunes (north of Ballarat in Victoria).

The links to this Department of Sustainability & Environment (DSE) web site
are as follows:

http://www.dse.vic.gov.au
then 'Recreation & Tourism'
then 'Hunting'
then 'Where can I hunt'
then 'Duck hunting'
then 'State Game Reserve Maps'
then 'Continue to Duck Hunting State Game Reserves'
then 'Duck Hunting State Game Reserve maps - pdfs

This information is produced by the Game Management Unit of DSE. Further
information can be obtained by contacting the DSE call centre on 136 186
from anywhere in Australia.

Note that these reserves are normally only open to hunting for about 3
months each year (assuming a season has been declared). The duck hunting
season normally runs from mid March to Mid May but can vary I understand.
