Thanks Gary - yes it will be interesting to see if the fairies can
actually make it into the concrete jungle. I wonder if one day some
whipbirds might take up residence in the fern gully in the RS parklands
A pair of bush thickknees successfully raised a chick in the park on
the other side of Albert St last year.

close to the entrance of the Parklands from Albert Street. Large as

The birdlife in the CBD parklands is very promising now that there is

much shrub growth in the area.

I saw a trio of what appeared to be female superb wrens in the
spectacle garden at the Roma St Parklands - the first fairy wrens that
I've seen in a Brisbane CBD location [albeit on the fringe of the CBD].
There was a buff-banded rail lurking behind them in a flower bed. It
is always interesting to see the "ground" birds adapting to the inner
city. It also interesting to work out how the little chaps made their
way to the park - probably along a corridor to the north ...
