Re: locust swarms

Having indicated that Dubbo was not as affected by locusts as badly was initially thought, they have now moved into the area in force.

For those interested in the impact of spraying for locust control I would direct you to a very good review of the major insecticide used - fenitrothion - by the Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority.  There is a section on the impacts on birds as well as other fauna.  The recommendations make interesting reading.
