Gooday all,
I've recorded all my sightings over the last couple of months at Muralug on
Bird info and was going to send the material onto the Atlas over the
Internet.
However I have a problem in the program recognising the surveys I want to
send. Have any of you any knowledge of the program or is there a help site
for Bird info?

We had not travelled too far when we came
a cross a lone Glossy Ibis feeding with Aust White Ibis 9, Banded Land Rail
3, Purple Swamphen 4, Dusky Moorhen 2, Great Egret 1, Intermediate Egret 2
in a settling pond. As we were still in our car the birds remained still
which allowed good close observation in an excellent light. Just past the
paperbarks we came across a group of Wandering Whistling Ducks 19, Plumed
Whistling Duck 7, Grey Teal 14, White-faced Heron , Eurasian Coot, Purple
Swamphen, Royal Spoonbill, Pacific Black Duck and Grey Teal. Waders fed
along the muddy shoreline and were represented by Marsh Sandpiper 14,
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper 11, Red-necked Stint 5, Curlew Sandpiper 4. Further
up a group of 9 Red-necked Avocets were settled in shallow water with some
birds preening and others roosting. An area count was completed for the
Atlas with my Mother most pleased with the days result.

Anyone passing through Bowen definitely wants to check out Mullers Lagoon.
Rainbow Lorikeets are also having a terrific time with the mango's. They
certainly make a mess of themselves when feeding on fermented fruit and can
be well propelled missiles by late afternoon. Conditions are still very dry
here.
