Checked out the pond/wetlands on the corner of Roe Hwy and Toodyay Rd in Stratton yesterday.  It's much more interesting midyear, but there were still a variety of ducks on the deep pond and most surprisingly...
 
14 white-faced heron on the almost dried up wetland.  I've never seen so many in one spot before.
