Larus novaehollandiae forsteri

Hi all,

I notice that Higgins & Davies(1996:517) give the range of Larus novaehollansiae forsteri as only New Caledonia including Loyalty Is, with nominate novaehollandiae for Australia including Tasmania.

 

But Condon (1975:145) gives the range of forsteri as "New Caledonia west to Torres Straits (breeding);islands near Cape York Peninsula and of Great Barrier Reef (breeding); eastern coast from Cairns south to Mackay, Qd."

 

Can anyone confirm which range is correct?
