Yes, I thought Black Kite -- but as well as its having Whistling-Kite-type markings, the call made me think of Whistling Kite, too, yes. Thanks, Carl!

it is a Black Kite that circles overhead a couple of times during the movie, and to make things a bit confusing, the call of a Whistling Kite is used on the soundtrack at these times.
