Greg, I couldn't agree with you more especially
about the 'bird attractant' plantings. Luckily I live in the middle of a forest
and dont have a 'garden' as such just a few ornamental shrubs amongst all the
wilderness so the birds have a completely natural selection of food. And I fully
admit that my feeding the birds is for my (and visitors) benefit and not the
birds. However I don't have any guilt feelings about that as I am
preserving 100 acres of natural bush for their ongoing use even after I am
gone.
