Hi all
A research project is available probably suitable for Masters level and
probably part time to allow enough time in the study.
As part of the consent conditions for the construction of a poultry complex
at Karuah a conservation area is to be established for three small families
of Grey-crowned Babbler that are resident near the development area. There
is an associated management plan for the the area and for monitoring of the
birds. The birds are occupying narrow vegetated drainage lines in a harshly
cleared grazing landscape and it is planned to significantly increase the
potential available habitat to facilitate an increase in numbers. The
families are currently made up of one of 5 birds and two of 9.
A funding contribution from the developer towards the project (in addition
to the required fencing and revegetation) would also be available.
If anyone is interested please email me off list.
Cheers
Colin Driscoll
