Just so that the Hunter twitchers don't think that they are going to have it all their own way this weekend I wish to announce a new North Coast Team the 'Black-necked Stalkers'.  Team leader Greg Clancy, fresh from the now retired 'Rustle Crows' will be joined by Russell Jago, of Ulmarra and Maureen O'Shea from South Grafton.  With the fastest pencil in the north, Bev Morgan will be the scribe.  The team will not leave the Clarence Valley but is confident of being up there with the leaders.  The Rustle Crows tally of 2001 last year has to be exceeded or else I lose a loaf of Sour Dough Rye Bread to retired 'Crows' member Craig Cassady who doesn't believe that we can exceed that figure just in the Clarence.

Conditions and birds are looking good with a number of rare species waiting to be twitched.

I understand that a few more teams will be entering from the north coast so the competition will be fierce.

May the best team win (as long as it is on the north coast).

Good luck
