Yesterday, myself and a non-birding mate of my mine did a 2 ½ hour walk in the early morning (approx. 7:30 - 10 am) in Sydney’s Royal NP (approx. 30 km south of Sydney CBD). Though I did not do any serious birding, I was pleased to see and or hear without too much effort, a small number of the usual but interesting birds along Lady Carrington Drive (from the southern end) including Topknot and Wonga Pigeons, Emerald Dove, Shinning Bronze-cuckoo, Sacred Kingfishers, Bassian Thrush, Pilotbirds, lots of Black-faced Monarchs, Rufous Fantails, heaps of Scarlet Honeyeaters, Satin Bowerbirds and several Superb Lyrebirds (2 males having a little song contest and displaying beside Lady Carrington drive).

I wish I could have spent more time!
