G'day all The "real" field guids to Australian birds was described by Patrick O'Malley some years ago. He suggested that all waders were one species - all forms of the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper. People who thought otherwise were said to be affected by the sewerage farm fumes. You can read all about it at: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~bbowman/birds/humor/aussie.html Very funny.
