Hi All,

I was recently observing Fuscous Honeyeaters and noticed thier similarity to Brown Honeyeaters.

When i consulted the field guide, i noticed that Fuscous HE's are classed as Lichenostomus along with many other honeyeaters.

However, Brown Honeyeaters are all alone in the Lichmera group.

Is anyone able to explain why Brown Honeyeaters are isolated in this way?

Peter
