Article in The Age (Melbourne) today
(http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/09/28/1096137234510.html) from a
researcher who reckons that if we don't take action we will eventually have
only two bird species in some cities - Rainbow Lorrikeets and Noisy Miners.
At least they are native :-)

Of recent years these spoggies have disappeared, presumably chased out by Noisy Miners, which have also largely chased away Pardalotes, NH & White-plumed Honeyeaters, Red Wattlebirds, Willy Wags, and Superb Fairy Wrens. I don't mind losing the spoggies, but the others are a great pity. Tony. |
