Cleaning binocular lenses

Today's modern lenses with special coatings must be cleaned carefully.  Buy some lens cleaner from a camera shop and some proper lens paper.  I have found that if you've got salt on your lens, then you might have sand too.  Sand will scratch the surface quite quickly if not cleaned carefully.
