Hi, being familiar with the calls of both Tawny-crowned H/E and Ground
Parrot my impression is that they actually sound quite different. The
GP has
a rising tinkling call which increases in frequency as it goes up
whilst the
Tc has a somewhat mournful drawn out call. Both can be heard almost
alongside each other near the airport at Strahan in western Tasmania, at
which occurrence the difference in calls becomes very plain.
