Hi all
Today I was on a disused coal mine site near Branxton in the Lower Hunter
Valley and there was a Masked Lapwing sitting on 4 eggs in the middle of a
huge expanse of black crushed coal waste- totally no vegetation. Funny thing
was that there were plenty of grassed paddocks around as well.
My sister was back at her research area outside Cunnamulla this week and
came across a group of 5 Bustards and managed to get close enough for one of
them to bark at her like a dog.
Happy birding
