Had an interesting cuckoo on our tv antenna this morning, back light to mid grey, wings mottled brown, throat, breast and belly very pale, almost white, with a few faint bars on the lower belly, mottling under wings, tail feathers with buff/white toothing. Head , nape and upper neck shaggy streaked brown, eye ring yellowish. To me this seems to indicate a not quite mature Pallid, but it also had a very noticeable white shoulder marking like a Fantail, which is not illustrated in any of my field guides, and I would appreciate comments.
