Thanks for the correction on northern hemisphere mistletoe.
I have one of my own though. The scientist in me was itching to
correct the KOFGAS acronym. I'm not particularly up on taxonomy, but
I do know the levels, which are Kingdom, Phylum (and Sub-phylum
nowadays), Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species (and also subspecies
now as well). KPCOFGS. I always remeber it by King Paul Cried Out
For Good Soup. Catchy.
Also it may be of interest that the Family Santalaceae is best known
for the Sandalwood tree, which provides a great deal of the world's
incense and scented oil. Sandalwood is also parasitic, on the roots
of trees, and grows in dry climates like Australia.
And keep these mistletoe growing suggestions coming, I am also very
interested in how to grow them.
