Further to Lawrie's note about thornbills in the CBD Melbourne. Yes, Brown Thornbill's are also in the adjacent Fitzroy Gardens, especially the dense shrubbery running through the middle of the gardens. Another observation at this locality in the last few days was a flock of Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos which appeared to have roosted in the tall pines over night on Monday from what I can tell. This is the closest to the CBD I've recorded the species. cheers, Martin Martin O'Brien Threatened Species & Communities Section Department of Sustainability and Environment East Melbourne -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
