Hi Tony I'm a little intrigued by your response to this email and hope that you'll share a little more information. My only experiences are with mist netting bush birds and no injuries or undue stress to the birds resulted (though a couple of Rainbow Lorrikeets have done me damage once!). Indeed everything has always gone smoothly. Have you experienced incidents of deaths or injuries with waterfowl using this capture method? I know cannon netters who are very experienced and do well with waders, never harming the birds, but they have many volunteers to assist them. Regards - Ricki |
