Roger Jaensch asked me to pass on this message in case anyone would like to see the birds - they appear like clockwork in the last light of the afternoon Over the past week the flock of 12 Swift Parrots first noticed in the Kenmore South area in early June has visited the original sighting locality almost daily. Some time between 1630 and 1645 the birds appear around Glen Frew Street, spend a few minutes in the very tops of a tall eucalypt, then move to another treetop or leave the area. A few stragglers have been seen in fading light (dusk) between 1700 and 1710 and possible roosting attempts in dense canopies of introduced leopard-wood trees have been witnessed. Birds have twice been heard passing the area around dawn.
