Hi All,

Today I managed to get much closer to the 'new' flock of birds on Lake Victoria at Point Lonsdale. They are not Sharp-tailed sandpipers as I reported last Thursday but are RED KNOT.   The breeding plumage became much clearer with the better weather and I was able to view them from only 25m distance as they fed in the shallow water. I have not seen RED KNOT on Lake Victoria during the last 12 months of regularly surveying the area on a weekly basis.
