Going further, how many people would be aware that to spotlight in a NSW State Forest you need a permit from State Forests, which itself demands an ACEC authority?  Chances are many most people spotlighting on NSW State Forest land are doing so illegally.

And in Queensland, play-back of recorded bird-song may be illegal in some circumstances.

Regulation 88(2) of the 1994 Nature Conservation Regulations,  reads, "a person must not use a radio, tape recorder, or other sound or amplifier system in a way that may cause unreasonable disturbance to a person or native animal in a protected area."

I don't know if that regulation is still current but expect it to be.

Playback of bird-song in the territory of a territorial male bird can cause that bird considerable distress and might reasonably be regarded as "unreasonable disturbance" of the bird.
