Just a note to thank Alan Morris and Chris Herbert for their contribution to
ABC Radio National's Earthbeat last Saturday.

In a few minutes - perhaps the editors should be thanked too! - they got across
an enormous range of points, starting with the local shorebirds and covering
issues like managing mangroves, the wariness of Curlews being linked to
shooting along the flyway, loss of wetlands elsewhere, nutrients, the role of
the State conservation agency....

Pity I couldn't find a transcript on the ABC website as I would like to have
gone over it again. Not least for the links between bird conservation and the
local community.
