Late yesterday afternoon (around 5pm) from my
balcony in Waverley (just outside Bondi Junction) saw huge flock of Yellow-taled
Black Cockatoos flying in an approximaetly SE direction several km away in the
vicinity of the southern parts of Centennial Park.
I counted 178 birds, which is similar to total for
flock passing over same area, similar direction, late afternoon Fri 21/5, 171
birds (sorry, forgot to post that on).
Also, surprised to see new addition to my "home"
list - immature Golden Whistler in Swamp Mahogany just outside (3m away) my
balcony. No doubt not that surprising but a new one for me for the
district.
For those who think that neighbour's birds don't
count, I live in a flat on the 6th floor, so my home list includes all
birds seen from the balcony - since the view extends on a good day all the way
to the Blue Mountains, this is admittedly biased in incuding large soaring
birds, especially those flying over nearby Centennial Park.
Thanks to those who replied re Sabah - I have yet
to reply indivdually. Cheers.
