Hi Penny and all
That area around Limburners Creek seems to
be a good area for raptors as I have experienced on previous occasions )and as
I have referred in my Dec 03 trip reports).

On my way home yesterday from
Newcastle University (Birds Oz AGM and meeting), 29 Yellow-tailed Black
Cockatoos flew over my head as I was filling my car with petrol at the
Heatherbrae BP service station at Raymond Terrace, then further up the Pacific
Highway by the Truck checking station a single flew over the road. About 5 pm.
Coming up Bucketts Way, just past
Limeburners Creek, 3 White-bellied Sea-eagles were wheeling around and around
each other - 2 full adults and one 2nd immature (looking at the Hanzab
illustrations). Illuminated in the last of the sun - beautiful sight. Often see
sea-eagles, Little and Wedge-tail Eagles, Whistling Kites, Swamp Harriers and
Ospreys in this area.
