Hi,
Just got back from a brief trip to Barmah. Birding
was not the intention, so apologies for the brevity of this report.
On the 29th while driving in, encountered Diamond
Firetail just next to the turnoff from the main road. Also, Wedge-tailed Eagle,
a few Flame Robins and an Azure Kingfisher flew past our campsite just on dusk.
In the evening, a brief spotlight along the path of a dry creek off the Murray
(just W of Faraway Beach) yielded 2 Squirrel Gliders that eventually escaped
back into the stag we found them on. Koalas and Brush-tailed Possums were
ubiquitous.
Today (30th) a brief sojourn with plenty of Flame
Robins and Jacky Winters, Rufous Whistler, Yellow Rosella, a Mistletoebird and a
plethora of other common species.
Regards,
Simon Mustoe.
