Marian, Bassian thrush seem to do a bit of a habitat change at this time of the year. They move out of their usual moist gullies / rainforest and into dryer vegetation, often onto ridges. Maybe you are seeing the result of these movements.

Has anyone got any general information on the Bassain Thrush - are they territorial, they drop their feathers when threatened, etc.
I have got 2 of these birds in 2 days, never had them before, very beautiful bird.
