Russell/Nina,
Some useful texts for your observations on pigeons are as follows:

Frith, H.J. (1982) Pigeons and Doves of Australia. Rigby: Adelaide.
Higgins, P. J. & Davies, S. J. J. F. (1996) [eds] Handbook of Australian,
New Zealand and Antarctic Birds. Volume 3. Pp: : 903-921. Royal
Australasian Ornithologists Union. Oxford University Press: Melbourne.

I only have HANZAB with me at the moment but in reference to the sharing of
nest duties in Crested Pigeons, to quote from HANZAB (pp. 906-907):
- 'parental care Both sexes build nest, incubate and care for young' and
- (young) 'Said to be fed by adults for about one month after leaving
nest.' and
- 'Male possibly takes over feeding of young when female ready to lay next
clutch...'

cheers, Martin
