We have three in our area near Mt Mee (one hour NNW of Brisbane).

I agree with your comment on Helmeted Guineafowl.

In January we saw flocks running wild in Chillagoe (N. Qld).
The locals said that they had been there for many years and
they were obviously self sustaining.
