Folks, sitting down?

I've just heard from one of my long-standing Regent Honeyeater volunteers that he found a lone Regent Honeyeater in Collendina on the Bellerine (I know the spelling is incorrect) Peninsula south-east of Geelong!

He knows his Regents, having been involved in many a nest watch for me in the Capertee Valley and locating Regents on the NSW south coast.

The bird was seen on 20 April in a planted Swamp Mahogany just near the Ocean Grove Hotel in Bonny Vale Road.  The reason for the delay in reporting this bird was that he was in the middle of a move from Nowra to Melbourne and had misplaced my phone number.

Anyway, time to get out there and scour those New Hollands for a real honeyeater.

Now there's a challenge for you!

Cheers
