Gooday Roy....I live in FN Qld.(Cairns)....have a
had a pair of drongo's appearing in my courtyard..around 5-5:45 every
night...for about the last week or so..one always find the same frond of bamboo
cane to jump around on.. precariously so...and has night after night ripped
short shoots of cane off....then just dropped them into my
yard... none have been retrieved that I can see so I guess it
is not a nesting thing.. the other bird seems to keep lookout
in adjacent trees and bushes...joins the other for a short time for a 'loud'
moment...then they depart.....would love to know if this behaviour has any
meaning....or is it just another part of their 'erratic' nature.....generally I
find them a delight to observe
Cheers
Alan
