Last Saturday (24 April) I did a recce around Banyule Flats Reserve in
preparation for a BAYBOCA outing this coming Saturday. Although the day
was rather cold, overcast and windy, I still managed 42 species. A big
surprise was an immature Olive-backed Oriole in the trees near the Yarra
Rriver as I thought it should have left for warmer areas by now.
Had one OBO (probably imm.) at Montrose on Wednesday too. (Montrose is
in outer easterm Melbourne, near Mount Dandenong).
