Hi Birders,
Marlene Lyall (Birding-aus) queried where to find White-cheeked Honeyeaters
on the NSW South Coast. However the chances are not great to see them. As a
general rule of thumb, White-cheeked Honeyeaters tend to be the more common
coastal heathland honeyeater north of Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour) while
New Holland Honeyeaters dominate south of the Harbour. The numbers of
White-cheeked Honeyeaters generally declines as you go further south, with
Wallaga Lake being about the furthest south they have been recorded but
obviously not being seen there regularly. New Homlland Honeyeaters decline
as you go north of Port Jackson, disappearing about Myall Lakes NP.
