I think the best book on a big year (also my favourite birding book - I
give copies to friends who want to know what its about) is Kenn
Kaufman's Kingbird Highway.
David Lord Re: Anyone know of this? MARK OBMASCIK'S BIG YEAR According to a government report, 2.4 million Americans keep a list of every bird species they've seen. In "The Big Year," journalist Mark Obmascik follows the most committed among them as they race around the world to sight as many species as possible within one calendar year. Here, for Powells.com readers, Obmascik offers an inside look at one of the world's truly demanding and unique competitions. http://www.powells.com/news/fromtheauthor/obmascik.html -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
