Hi all,
Recently I read that the Sydney version of the QLD cane toad is the
Noisy Miner. Go figure ?
Mind you, it's hard to practice a golf swing on a Noisy Miner, as the cane
toads are happy to wait for you to adjust your grip and survey the hazards.

Only kidding !

Happy birding,

t
vehicles with and with out the devices found no difference.

One reason ultrasonic device won't work is ver basic - many of the target
species can't hear ultrasound! Humans have much better high frequency
hearing than all the bird species I've seen data for. If you can't hear
the ultrasonic scarer, an Oriental Plover can't either.

Some mammals do hear ultrasound well, but most of the large mammals these
devices are said to target don't. They have worse high frequency than
humans and won't hear the device if you can't. Even where a species
can hear the device, its far from obvious that they'll react in a manner
than prevents a collosion.
