Why is it that wherever in the world you are there is likely to be a
passerine that lives on stream-sides or near water which is predominantly
black and white (possible with grey), which has a comparatively long tail
and jerky movements (even though these birds are completely unrelated), eg
Australia: Magpielark
SE Asia: Slaty-backed Forktail
Britain: Pied Wagtail (and various other grey and white or black and white
wagtails in Europe and Africa)
Central America: Torrent Tyrannulet
