Hi Birding-aussers, around Moreton Bay and the islands and indeed other parts of coastal SEQ I've noticed several species showing this yellow/brownish stain. Species such as Pied & Little Pied Cormorants, Royal Spoonbill, White Ibis etc, birds that often frequent Mangrove/Melaleuca wetland. I've simply dismissed this discolouration as 'tannin stain'. Rightly or wrongly? Cheers - Paul W.
