Botanic Gardens
I will be giving two presentations on Baby Dreaming down your way in
February.
Presentation 1: on flora of the area at the Canberra Botanic Gardens
on 18
Feb (I haven't a time yet). I will also be including birds and other
fauna.
Presentation 2: on the Baby Dreaming project and fauna, flora and
Bininj
(Aboriginal) culture. This will be held at the Australian Museum,
Sydney,
19 February, 6.30 pm.
As the latter will be hosted by the Australian Museum Society there
will be
a small admission charge.
Three communities and over a hundred Bininj are now involved in the
Baby
Dreaming project. Because of contact with visiting birdwatchers there
has
been a seachange in attitudes towards non-indigenous people and
tourism.
I go back in May this time taking my Apple computer - it can run on a
diesel
generator. We aim to have all reading and writing and computer
literate by
the end of the year.
Kind regards
Denise
