At present there is a large (40-50 birds) flock of
Superb Parrots on the north side of the top of Mt.Rogers in northwest Canberra.
Many of the birds are immatures and very noisy with their begging calls. They
seem to hang around in trees in an area where a path exits from the path round
the mountain and heads downhill due north. I belive these are some of the birds
who breed in the Murrumbidgee Valley, and they turn up here not infrequently in
January.
