Hello birdos,
Sorry for late notice but have to pop up to Sydney tomorrow for the day
for an interview. I'll be needing to go to the Sheraton opposite Hyde
Park in the morning. Any suggestions as to where to travel by public
transport to do some birding in the afternoon as I don't fly out until
the early evening.
Any spots for migrants or local residents not extending into Victoria
where I have done the bulk of my birding since coming to Aus. would be
of interest.
I have been up as far as Lamington/Brisbane on one occasion. Species
looking for - i.e. Black Bittern, Topknot Pigeon, Dollarbird, Speckled
Warbler, White-throated Gerygone, Scarlet Honeyeater, Red-whiskered
Bulbul, Cicadabird, Varied Triller, Green Catbird, Double-barred Finch,
Tawny Grassbird.
"Where to find birds" by Bransbury not particularly helpful for any of
the species above. Perhaps I'm grasping at straws but any directions to
a location where any of the above species may be lurking for an
afternoon 'stroll' would be greatly appreciated.
Reply ASAP if you can as I'm flying out early tomorrow.
Much thanks,
Paul
