Please capture them and return them to aviaries. In the interim please prick
any eggs.

Does anyone know a way of desexing these beasts which, like cats, should not be
allowed to breed in Oz ? They are an avian weed, although not as threatening as
the vegetable weeds which admirably The Australian is now reporting.

The State of Australian Birds in the supplement to the December "Wingspan"
implied these were now accepted as feral in Aus. presumably because of the
large Alice Springs breeding population.

But Robert Read reported last August that they have been removed (back to the
Barbary coast of NE Africa I hope - if not to a rest home.)

Michael Norris
with apologies for not yet netting his local pair - nor ticking them in 2004 !
