Hi all,
Visited relatives who live in Canberra, and noticed to my horror that in their fron't yard, what used to be a flourishing smoothed bark beutiful bushy eucalypt, is now just an ugly dead tree.
What actually happened to the tree was a Galah who used to pearch on the side of the tree all day, physically bit off so much bark that he eventually ring barked it!

And I can actually remember visiting my relatives last year and seeing the first of this act of herbacide, only at that time I thought the bird was only trying to create itself a hollow, little did I know it was trying to destroy the tree!

Has anyone else came across such an event?
