Hello all,
We have done a bit of birding south of Cairns and the only bird so far of
note was a Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava taivana) in adult breeding
plumage at Eubenangee Swamp a few days ago. We saw it from the top of the
hill in an area of short grass on the opposite side of the lake area. We
didn't find anything interesting on the esplanade but we haven't been there
for a bit.

Hi all
Merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2004 to all.
We are heading to Cairns and onto Bamaga in the New Year. Just checking
to see if there are any summer rarities/specialties around Cairns at the
moment. We will have 4 days there . Any Barn Swallows or Oriental
Pratincoles, or waders on the Esplanade ?
We will spend one night at Cassowary House at Kuranda and a day trip
hopefully on Sea Star II to Michaelmas Cay
Cheers
