Hi all,

I visited the T-section yesterday evening with Kevin Bartram and Jamie Matthew. Kevin Bartram spotted a Yellow Wagtail feeding at the edge of the first pond. Strong winds and overcast sky prevented a good view, until the bird was feeding on the roadside between the ponds. The bird was in first basic plumage. It is an early summer record. Also seen at the T-section, a Terek Sandpiper, a scarce summer migrant in southern Victoria. The Terek Sandpiper and a Long-toed Stint were also seen in this area on the 2 December. The Long-toed Stint was feeding beside Sharp-tailed Sandpipers in amongst rocks and grasses to the west of the first pond.

Directions: The last "permit accessible" gate on the right, off Point Wilson Rd.  The wagtail was frequenting the area of the first ponds either side of the road.

Cheers,
