There
were 19+ Little Egrets nesting in cypress trees on the
foreshore at Geelong Grammar School, thanks Don Greaves.

On the
morning of Wednesday, 10/12, Darryn Costanzo of Bayside's Bushland crew found a
Little Bittern on the ground on the "landside" at Ricketts
Point, Beaumaris. This is Coast Banksia woodland along an inland cliff face,
separated from the sea by a major road. The bird was taken to a vets but
unfortunately the bird soon died, according to the vet probably as result of a
broken vertebra, thanks Michael Norris.

northern Victoria: Painted Honeyeater at Regals rock in the
Terrick NP, A few Painted Snipe at Hirds swamp,
Australian Pratincoles settling in to breed west of Pyramid
Hill and more found near Mt. Hope, thanks Simon Starr

Black-breasted Buzzard was seen flying over the "Burnt Bridges"
area of Toorloo Arm, Lake Tyers. Sight record confirmed by a number of
experienced observers, Joy Johnstone per Len Axen.

Glossy Ibis was seen from the hide at Edithvale Wetlands, first

A pair
of Sacred Kingfishers have been regularly sighted along the
Marlo Road in trial re-vegetation plots adjacent to Warm Temperate Rainforest

There
was a Powerful Owl in the spotted gum plantation at Bambra
School Camp, Bambra (12km South of Winchelsea), thanks Ian Davies.

Leaden Flycatchers, Latham's Snipe and
a male Hooded Robin were seen by a party of bird observers at
the Canni Creek Racecourse south of Buchan. A detour well worth making for any
visiting "birdo", thanks Joy Johnstone per Len Axen.

Channel-billed Cuckoos seen feeding in Moreton Bay Fig trees in
Metung during the last week, thanks Joy Johnstone & Stephen Henry, Orbost
DSE, also, reports of one CBC heard calling in Marlo during the same period per
Len Axen.

Noisy Friarbirds and a lone Rainbow
Bee-eater were observed at Swifts Creek during the last week of
November, thanks Joy Johnstone per Len Axen.
